Guidelines and FAQs
Winnfield Talks is an open board for anyone who lives here, grew up here, or just cares about the place. There isn't much to it. Here are the few things we ask, and answers to what people usually wonder.
A few guidelines
- Be decent.Argue all you want, but treat people like neighbors, because they probably are.
- Keep it about town.News, events, questions, recommendations, stories, and gripes are all fair game, as long as they tie back to here.
- Leave people's private info out of it.Don't post addresses, phone numbers, or anything else that could put someone at risk.
- Don't be a bot.Post like a person. Nobody wants a thread full of repeated ads.

Quick answers
Do I need an account?
Not to read. To post or reply, sign up with an email and pick any username you like. Real names are optional.
What can I talk about?
Pretty much anything connected to the town. If you're wondering whether it fits, it probably does.
How do I post?
Sign in, open a board, and hit New Post. Give it a clear title so people know what it's about.
What if something's out of line?
Use the Report link on the post. A volunteer moderator will take a look. Things only get removed when they cross the lines above.
Can I promote my business or event?
Sure. Local businesses and events are welcome. Just don't post the same thing over and over.
Can I edit or delete what I posted?
Yes. Open your post and use the menu to edit or delete it any time.
How do I find a thread again later?
Hit Follow on any thread and it shows up on your profile, and you'll get a heads-up when someone replies.
Is there an app?
Not yet. The site works fine on your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen.
Who runs this?
A handful of residents. It's independent and not connected to the town government.
